Salasar Balaji

Salasar Balaji is a religious place for the devotees of Lord Hanuman. It is situated in Churu district of Rajasthan. Salasar Dham attracts innumerable Indian worshipers throughout the year. On Chaitra Poornima and Ashvin Purnima large fairs take place in the area when more than 6 to 7 lakhs of people assemble here to pay their homage to the deity. Hanuman Sewa Samiti looks after the management of the Temple and the fair. There are many Dharamshalas to stay and Indian restaurants to eat. Salasar Dham is situated in Salasar town.
Location
Salasar town is in district Churu of Rajasthan situated on Jaipur and Bikaner Highway. It is 57 kilometres from Sikar town, 24 kilometers from Sujangarh town and 30 kilometers from Laxmangarh. Salasar town lies in Sujangarh Panchayat Samity and is well connected with Delhi, Jaipur and Bikaner by regular bus service.


History
On Saturday, Shravan Shukla-Navami -Samvat 1811, a miracle happened. A Ginthala-Jat farmer of village Asota in district Nagaur of Rajasthan was ploughing his field. All of sudden the plough was hit by some stony thing and the sound - thlikk ... was created. He dug up the soil of that place and found an idol covered with sand. His wife reached there with his lunch packet. The farmer showed the idol to his wife. She cleaned up the idol with her sari (dress). The idol was that of Balaji i.e. Lord Hanuman. They bowed their heads with devotion and worshipped Lord Balaji. The news of appearance of Lord Balaji spread in the village Asota immediately. The Thakur of Asota also heard the news. Balaji ordered him in the dream to send the idol to Salasar in the Churu district. Same night a devotee of Lord Hanuman, Mohan Dasji Maharaj of Salasar saw Lord Hanuman or Balaji in dream. Lord Balaji told him about the idol of Asota. He immediately sent a massage to Thakur of Asota. The thakur was surprised to know -How Mohandasji knew minor details without coming to Asota? Certainly it was a kindness of Lord Balaji. The idol was sent to Salasar and was fixed at the place known as Salasar Dham.

Places around Dham
Dhunia of Mohandas ji is the place where the holy fire lit by great devotee Mohandas ji is still burning. The devotees take holy ashes from here. It's in the Balaji temple jai hanuman Sri Mohan Mandir is situated near Balaji temple. The footprints of Mohandasji and Kanidadi are found there. This place is the samadhi sthal of both holy devotees. The continuous Ramayan reading has been taking place here from last eight years. In the temple premises of Lord Balaji, Akhand Hari Kirtan (Chanting of the name of Rama) is continuing for last 20 years.
Temple of Anjani Mata is situated two kilometers away from Salasar Dham toward Laxmangarh. Anjani Mata was mother of Lord Hanuman or Balaji. Gudavadi Shyam temple is one kilometer away from Salasar. Two Bullock Carts of the age of Mohan Dasji are placed here in the Balaji Mandir premises.
Shayanan Mata Mandir situated about 15 km from here on a unique hillock in the desert area & about 1100 years old is worth visiting.

Stories of Lord Hanuman

When Lakshmana is severely wounded by Indrajit during the war against Ravana, Hanuman is sent to fetch the Sanjivani, a powerful life-restoring herb from the Dronagiri mountain in the Himalayas to revive him. Ravana realises that if Lakshmana dies, a distraught Rama would probably give up, and so has his uncle Kalnaimi tempt Hanuman away with luxury. However, Hanuman is tipped off by a crocodile (actually a celestial being under a curse) and kills the Rakshasa. When he is unable to find the specific herb before nightfall, Hanuman again displays his might by lifting the entire Dronagiri mountain and bringing it to the battlefield in Lanka, thus helping others find the herb to revive Lakshmana. An emotional Rama hugs Hanuman, declaring him as dear to him as his own beloved brother Bharat. After victory Lord Rama return to Ayodhya and decides to ceremoniously reward all his well-wishers. Seeing Hanuman come up to him, an emotionally overwhelmed Rama embraces him warmly, declaring that he could never adequately honour or repay Hanuman for the help and services he received from him. Sita, however, insists that Hanuman deserved honour more than anyone else, and asks him to seek a gift. Upon Hanuman's request, Sita gives him a necklace of precious stones adorning her neck. When he receives it, Hanuman immediately takes it apart, and peers into each stone. Taken aback, many of those present demand to know why he was destroying the precious gift. Hanuman answers that he was looking into the stones to make sure that Rama and Sita are in them, because if they are not, the necklace is of no value to him. At this, a few mock Hanuman, saying his reverence and love for Rama and Sita could not possibly be as deep as he was portraying. In response, Hanuman tears his chest open, and everyone is stunned to see Rama and Sita literally in his heart.

Hanuman in Mahabharta

With the blessing of Lord Rama Hanumanji was a chiranjeevi (immortal). In Mahabharat. period when the Pandavas were in the forest, Darupadi requested Bhima for the Saugandika flower of heavenly fragrance. On this way to get this flower, Bhima encountered a monkey lying in the middle of his path. Angered by this delay in his mission, Bhima crossly asked the 'ape' to clear the path and let him pass. The monkey slowly looked at Bhima, and requested him "I am very old and can't even move, just push my tail to one side and you move on ahead" Bhima was full of contempt for the monkey, but tried to push the tail away with his mace (Gadha) but, he could not get the tail to shift. It was then that Bhima realized that this was no ordinary monkey and with folded hands begged his pardon. On another occasion, when Arjun met Hanumanji, he said "Rama need not have asked the monkeys to build a bridge to Lanka. If it were me, I would simply have made a bridge with my arrows" Hanumanji replied that a bridge of Arjun's arrows would not be strong enough to carry his weight let alone the whole Vanar army. This developed into a challenge. It was decided that if Hanumanji managed to walk across the bridge then Arjun would have to jump into the fire, and if Arjun won then Hanumanji would have to bless Arjun during the war with the Kauravs by adorning his flag. Arjun built a bridge with his arrows, but it broke into pieces as Hanuman step one foot on it than. Arjun got ready to jump in to the fire. At that very minute, Lord Krishna appeared and asked for the bridge to be re-built. When it was done, he touched it with his divine hands as if to test it, and then asked Hanumanji to step onto it. This time around, even when Hanumanji danced heavily on the bridge, it did not break. Hanuman kept his promise and entered Arjun's banner.

Hanumanji is the symbol of Devotion and Service to Lord Rama. Hanuman in Ramayana Hanuman was the chief of the armies of Lord Ramachandra and took a prominent part in the war against Ravana, the king of Lanka, in Ramayana. Hanuman helped restore Sita Devi back to Sri Rama. Hanuman carried Sri Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulder to Sugreeva, the king of all Vanars (monkeys) in Kishkindha and helped them to find Sita. Prior to the war between Sri Rama and Ravana, Anjaneya visited Lanka, met Ravana, created havoc and burnt down the city of Lanka (Lanka Dahan). During the war, when Lakshmana was injured seriously, Sushena, the surgeon/physician of the monkey army, dispatched Marutinandan to bring herbal medicine, Sanjeevini, from the far-off Sumeru Mountain in the Himalayas, before sunrise. Hanuman was blessed by Sri Rama with immortality (chiranjeevi) at the end of the war. Flying over the Himalayas and unable to identify the particular herb fast, Hanuman uprooted and carried the entire mountain in time to save the life of Lakshmana along with the rest of the Vanar army.

Childhood of Lord Hanuman

Lord Hanuman was the son of Anjani and Maruti, born with the blessings of 'Vayu', the wind god (Pavan). He is considered to be an avatar (incarnation) of Lord Shiva . Lord Hanuman was the only learned scholar who knew the nine Vyakaranas. He learned the shastras from Suryadev, the sun god. He is well versed with the Vedas and other sacred books. From his birth onwards, he exhibited extraordinary physical strength and worked many miracles. There are various instances in the scriptures about his childhood. Once as a child, looking at the sun Anjaneya thought it was a fruit. He flew up to eat it, and swallowed the sun. The universe plunged into darkness. Angered by his action, Lord Indra attacked Anjaneya with his 'Vajrayudha' . Anjaneya was hurt on his chin (known as 'Hanu' in sanskrit). This is how he got the name Hanuman, which is his most commonly used name. Seeing his son hurt, the wind god Pavan was very upset and threatened to withdraw 'Pranvayu' oxygen) from the Universe. Terrified by this threat the gods came to appease 'Vayu'. They each conferred a boon upon the little Hanuman. He was blessed with courage, superhuman strength and valour. Hanuman as Ram-bhakta Hanumanji is the symbol of Devotion and Service to Lord Rama. Lord Hanuman

Lord Hanuman is the Supreme Lord, for acquiring knowledge, physical and mental strength, truthfulness, sincerity, selflessness, humility, loyalty, and profound devotion to the Lord. Hanumanji is known by many names as Anjaneya, Anjani Putra, Bajarangbali, Hanuman, Mahaveer, Marutinandan, Pavanputra etc. Hanuman, worshipped for his strength, valor, agility, is a man of great teaming. Lord Hanuman is fast - the most agile and oriented god. He has exhibited astonishing physical strength and worked many miracles. His valour, wisdom, knowledge of the scriptures and superhuman strength attracted everybody who came near him. He had extraordinary skill in warfare. Hanmanji was a bachelor (brahamachari) and is worshipped in all the temples of India. Every temple of Shri Ram contains an icon of Hanuman. Worship of Sri Rama is complete only with the worship of Hanuman. References to Hanuman in classical literature could be found as early as those of 5th to 1st century BC in Panini's Astadhyayi, Abhiseka Nataka, Pratima Nataka and Raghuvamsa (Kalidasa)

चरितं रघुनाथस्य शतकोटिप्रविस्तरम् ।एकैकमक्षरं पुंसां महापातकनाशनम् ॥1॥ध्यात्वा नीलोत्पलश्यामं रामं राजीवलोचनम् ।जानकीलक्ष्मणोपेतं जटामुकुटमण्डितम्॥2॥सासितूणधनुर्बाणपाणिं नक्तंचरान्तकम्।स्वलीलया जगत्त्रातुमाविर्भूतमजं विभुम्॥3॥रामरक्षां पठेत् प्राज्ञ: पापघ्नीं सर्वकामदाम् ।शिरो मे राघव: पातु भालं दशरथात्मज: ॥4॥कौसल्येयो दृशौ पातु विश्वामित्रप्रिय: श्रुती ।घ्राणं पातु मखत्राता मुखं सौमित्रिवत्सल: ॥5॥जिह्वां विद्यानिधि: पातु कण्ठं भरतवन्दित: ।स्कन्धौ दिव्यायुध: पातु भुजौ भग्नेशकार्मुक: ॥6॥करौ सीतापति: पातु हृदयं जामदग्न्यजित् ।मध्यं पातु खरध्वंसी नाभिं जाम्बवदाश्रय: ॥7॥सुग्रीवेश: कटी पातु सक्थिनी हनुमत्प्रभु: ।ऊरू रघूत्तम: पातु रक्ष:कुलविनाशकृत् ॥8॥जानुनी सेतुकृत पातु जंघे दशमुखान्तक: ।पादौ विभीषणश्रीद: पातु रामोऽखिलं वपु: ॥9॥एतां रामबलोपेतां रक्षां य: सुकृती पठेत् ।स चिरायु: सुखी पुत्री विजयी विनयी भवेत् ॥10॥पातालभूतलव्योमचारिणश्छद्मचारिण:न द्रष्टुमपि शक्तास्ते रक्षितं रामनामभि: ॥11॥रामेति रामभद्रेति रामचन्द्रेति वा स्मरन् ।नरो न लिप्यते पापैर्भुक्तिं मुक्तिं च विन्दति ॥12॥जगज्जैत्रैकमन्त्रेण रामनाम्नाभिरक्षितम् ।य: कण्ठे धारयेत्तस्य करस्था: सर्वसिद्धय: ॥13॥वज्रपञ्जरनामेदं यो रामकवचं स्मरेत्।अव्याहताज्ञ: सर्वत्र लभते जयमंगलम् ॥14॥आदिष्टवान् यथा स्वप्ने रामरक्षामिमां हर: ।तथा लिखितवान् प्रात: प्रबुद्धो बुधकौशिक: ॥15॥आराम: कल्पवृक्षाणां विराम: सकलापदाम् ।अभिरामस्त्रिलोकानां राम: श्रीमान् स न: प्रभु: ॥16॥तरुणौ रूपसम्पन्नौ सुकुमारौ महाबलौ ।पुण्डरीकविशालाक्षौ चीरकृष्णाजिनाम्बरौ ॥17॥फलमूलाशिनौ दान्तौ तापसौ ब्रह्मचारिणौ ।पुत्रौ दशरथस्यैतौ भ्रातरौ रामलक्ष्मणौ ॥18॥शरण्यौ सर्वसत्त्वानां श्रेष्ठौ सर्वधनुष्मताम् ।रक्ष:कुलनिहन्तारौ त्रायेतां नो रघूत्तमौ ॥19॥आत्तसज्जधनुषाविषुस्पृशावक्षयाशुगनिषंगसंगिनौ ।रक्षणाय मम रामलक्ष्मणावग्रत: पथि सदैव गच्छताम् ॥20॥संनद्ध: कवची खड्गी चापबाणधरो युवा ।गच्छन् मनोरथान् नश्च राम: पातु सलक्ष्मण: ॥21॥रामो दाशरथि: शूरो लक्ष्मणानुचरो बली ।काकुत्स्थ: पुरुष: पूर्ण: कौसल्येयो रघूत्तम: ॥22॥वेदान्तवेद्यो यज्ञेश: पुराणपुरुषोत्तम:जानकीवल्लभ: श्रीमानप्रमेयपराक्रम: ॥23॥इत्येतानि जपन् नित्यं मद्भक्त: श्रद्धयान्वित: ।अश्वमेधाधिकं पुण्यं सम्प्राप्नोति न संशय: ॥24॥रामं दूर्वादलश्यामं पद्माक्षं पीतवाससम् ।स्तुवन्ति नामभिर्दिव्यैर्न ते संसारिणो नरा: ॥25॥रामं लक्ष्मणपूर्वजं रघुवरं सीतापतिं सुन्दरंकाकुत्स्थं करुणार्णवंगुणनिधिं विप्रप्रियं धार्मिकम् ।राजेन्द्रं सत्यसंधं दशरथतनयं श्यामलं शान्तमूर्तिंवन्दे लोकाभिरामं रघुकुलतिलकं राघवं रावणारिम् ॥रामाय रामभद्राय रामचन्द्राय वेधसे ।रघुनाथाय नाथाय सीताया: पतये नम: ॥27॥श्रीराम राम रघुनन्दन राम रामश्रीराम राम भरताग्रज राम रामश्री राम राम रणकर्कश राम रामश्रीराम राम शरणं भव राम राम ॥28॥श्रीरामचन्द्रचरणौ मनसा स्मरामिश्रीरामचन्द्रचरणौ वचसा गृणामि ।श्रीरामचन्द्रचरणौ शिरसा नमामिश्रीरामचन्द्रचरणौ शरणं प्रपद्ये ॥29॥माता रामो मत्पिता रामचन्द्र:स्वामी रामो मत्सखा रामचन्द्र:सर्वस्वं मे रामचन्द्रो दयालुर्नान्यंजाने नैव जाने न जाने ॥30॥दक्षिणे लक्ष्मणो यस्य वामे च जनकात्मजा ।पुरतो मारुतिर्यस्य तं वन्दे रघुनन्दनम् ॥31॥लोकाभिरामं रणरंगधीरं राजीवनेत्रं रघुवंशनाथम् ।कारुण्यरूपं करुणाकरं तं श्रीरामचन्द्रं शरणं प्रपद्ये ॥32॥मनोजवं मारुततुल्यवेगं जितेन्द्रियं बुद्धिमतां वरिष्ठम् ।वातात्मजं वानरयूथमुख्यं श्रीरामदूतं शरणं प्रपद्ये ॥33॥कूजन्तं रामरामेति मधुरं मधुराक्षरम् ।आरुह्य कविताशाखां वन्दे वाल्मीकिकोकिलम् ॥34॥आपदामपहर्तारं दातारं सर्वसम्पदाम् ।लोकाभिरामं श्रीरामं भूयो भूयो नमाम्यहम् ॥35॥भर्जनं भवबीजानामर्जनं सुखसम्पदाम् ।तर्जनं यमदूतानां रामरामेति गर्जनम् ॥36॥रामो राजमणि: सदा विजयते रामं रमेशं भजेरामेणाभिहता निशाचरचमू रामाय तस्मै नम: ।रामान्नास्ति परायणं परतरं रामस्य दासोऽस्म्यहंरामे चित्तलय: सदा भवतु मे भो राम मामुद्धर ॥37॥राम रामेति रामेति रमे रामे मनोरमे ।सहस्त्रनाम तत्तुल्यं रामनाम वरानने ॥38॥
